About the Team

Bash Valley Clobber Girls (“BVCG”) is a grassroots organization created to inspire women through companionship, sportsmanship, and a love of roller derby.  Our members are a diverse group of women from all walks of life who come together to participate in this full-contact sport.  Don’t be fooled by this being a professional business. Our members are strong, extremely diverse, and all have a “take no prisoners” attitude.

BVCG is working to be a fully sponsored and financially sound organization run by the skater for the skater.  Our goal is to provide an exciting, unique entertainment venue to our community, as well as an athletic outlet for the women on the team. Because we are a non-profit organization, BVCG plans to put any net profits back into the community through charitable donations and other non-profit organizational donations.

The Bash Valley Clobber Girls were formed in the summer of 2010 when four women got tired of driving to Indy and Bloomington for their roller derby fix.  After telling anyone who would listen about how amazing roller derby was and how badly Terre Haute needed a team, they were all introduced by mutual friends and the idea really took off.

How it all got started

After a successful call-out meeting at the end of the summer, the team of around 30 ladies started pouring their sweat and blood out on the track around Memorial Stadium to get ready for competition.

The Clobber Girls finally found a home in the "The Hangar" at the Terre Haute International Airport when the weather turned cold and now they can be found there at least three times a week skating their hearts out, preparing to take the Wabash Valley and the derby world by storm.
